James joined Singer Capital Markets in 2026 as Managing Director of Investment Banking and Head of Private Capital Markets, bringing over 25 years of experience across corporate broking, equity capital markets, and financial services leadership.

Having begun his city career at WestLB Panmure and then Investec Bank, James spent a decade at Numis Securities as Managing Director of Corporate Broking before leading the Management Buy-In of Dowgate Group in 2016. As CEO of Dowgate Capital, he grew turnover organically by over 800% to approximately £15m and scaled assets under management to over £2bn. In 2026, he led the demerger of Dowgate Capital, bringing its team and clients to Singer Capital Markets.
