Singer Capital Markets support IntoUniversity’s “Big City Bright Future” internship programme

At the end of July, Singer Capital Markets were involved in running an Investment Banking workshop for IntoUniversity’s “Big City Bright Future” internship programme.

The Big City Bright Future internship programme gives IntoUniversity students the opportunity to undertake a three-week paid internship within firms in various industries; such as financial services, investment banking, law, and marketing. Unfortunately, as a result of Covid-19, this year’s BCBF had to be taken online, but this didn’t stop IntoUniversity putting on a fantastic 3 weeks of workshops, seminars and networking opportunities for the students.

During week 3, Carlo Spingardi (Corporate Finance) and Alex Estefanous (Research) hosted an online workshop for 120 students on the ins and outs of Investment Banking, what Research is, and some of the key processes and skills needed to work within the Investment Banking industry.

Feedback from the IntoUniversity students:

“Today was great! Learning how to work the spread sheet has been really insightful I feel like my mind has been opened to this new world of paperwork I never thought I could understand. Looking at the graphs in the spread sheet and understanding them has been great. The work put into the breakout rooms has been really good and productive. Thank you so much Singer Capital Markets!”

“Amazing session! So well organised and presented by such lovely and helpful people. Huge thanks to both Carlo and Alex for not only an interactive session but so informative.”

“Best session so far out of the three weeks. Highly interactive, structured, informative and thorough.

“Today I learnt the communicative skills necessary and the level of analysis needed to succeed in investment banking and how multi faceted investment banking is; from retail to healthcare etc.”

Our Partnership with IntoUniversity

Since 2019, Singer Capital Markets have partnered with  IntoUniversity – a growing educational charity working to support children from disadvantaged backgrounds. The initiative was created to address the issue of children and young adults from disadvantaged backgrounds, who are “nearly four times less likely to go to university than those in the most advantaged areas.” Over the last 15 years, the charity have helped over 100,000 children and young people access higher education, and intend to continue to do so by operating more centres and having more staff nationally.
